More information about the Roanoke Valley Governor's School.

There are two levels of chemistry at the Roanoke Valley Governor's School. One is the first year chemistry course, Governor's School Chemistry. The other, formerly Advanced Chemical Topics, was changed to AP Chemistry starting with the 2004-2005 school year, and is one of several advanced science courses from which upperclass students may chose. All RVGS students also take an elective each year. Environmental Research and Forensic Science are two of these electives. You can see syllabi, notes, laboratory experiments and more for these four courses by following the links below.

You can also find out about Gwen Sibert, the Governor's School faculty member who teaches these courses.

The Environmental Chemistry link is to a course titled "Better Living Through "Environmental" Chemistry", which is one of the courses offered at the Summer Governor's School for Science, Math and Technology at Lynchburg College. You can see the assignments and experiments done in the course, as well as pictures from 2005-2007.
