Chemistry 4414 Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory List of Experiments
Each student pair will perform 6 different general experiments and a special project. During the first ten weeks the students will perform experiment 1A or 1B, experiment 2A, 2B,or 2C experiment 3A and 3B, experiment 4A, 4B, 4C, or 4D, and one additional experiment of your choice from those listed below. During the last five weeks each student pair will pursue a special project in one of the areas listed. General Experiments 1. Preparation of geometric and optical isomers of coordination compounds (Pick A or B) A. cis- and trans- [Co(en)2Cl2]Cl B. (+) and (-) [Co(en)3]3+ 2. Preparation of Materials (Pick A, B or C) A.
