Extra-University Teaching:

Has taught the following American Chemical Society Short Courses at Virginia Tech every year for over 25 years:

  • Polymer Chemistry: Principles and Practice (3 times a year)
  • Introduction to Polymeric Adhesives and Composites
  • Polymer Characterization: Thermal, Mechanical, and Structural
  • Polymer Synthesis: Overview and Recent Developments

Participated in numerous American Chemical Society-sponsored short courses in Polymer Chemistry, scheduled throughout the country.

Has conducted short courses in polymer chemistry at many Industrial Laboratories, including DuPont, Union Carbide, Rohm and Haas, IBM, Tennessee Eastman, Eastman Kodak, Ethyl, 3M, Dow, P&G, Dow-Corning, General Electric, ICI, PPG, ARCO, Amoco, and Phillips Petroleum.

Extension Division Short Course, March 1982, March 1984.

Taught 3 NSF/ACS/Virginia Tech sponsored short course for undergraduate teachers "Teaching Macromolecular Chemistry and Engineering in the Undergraduate Curriculum."
