The following Web resources are ones that I find useful to find books, articles, and recent news on ethics in science.
The Access Excellence educational program by Genentech, Inc. includes an Issues & Ethics page with relevant biotechnology information.
Alex Fowler maintains the AAAS Science & Policy program's Scientific Freedom, Responsibility and Law Program homepage. Recent issues of the Professional Ethics Report are available on-line. Additional topics include:
The AAAS hosts a scholarly electronic conference involving Perspectives on Ethical Issues in Science and Technology. Further details are available from Alex Fowler (afowler@aaas.org).
The Association for Practical and Professional Ethics provides a forum for scholars and educators concerned with the development of interdisciplinary scholarship in practical ethics.
The Centre for Applied Ethics at the University of British Columbia maintains a list of applied ethics WWW sites.
The The Center for Environmental Philosophy at the University of North Texas is the home of the journal Environmental Ethics (cumulative index, but no on-line articles).

The School of Computing Sciences at De Montfort University has established a Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility.
The Centre for Philosophy, Technology and Society at the University of Aberdeen, now has their journal: Ends and Means on-line.

The Human Genome Project maintains an information site at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which includes Ethical, Legal and Social Issues.
The International Society for Environmental Ethics has a home page with a newsletter archive, bibliography, and other resources.
Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory's ELSI in Science program - a pilot project designed to stimulate discussions relating to the Ethical, Legal and Social Issues in Science (precollege-level material).
The Library and Medical Information Center at the Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden) has listed a few WWW links relating to Ethics in Medicine and Science. A compilation of online documents regarding bioethics and ethics in health-related fields is available on the Karolinska gopher.
The MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago maintains several lists of internet resources about bio- and medical ethics.
The Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University maintains a database of on-line resources, case studies, and Issues in Ethics magazine.
The Medical College of Wisconsin's Bioethics Online Service includes a database of journal articles, news accounts, court decisions, legislative bills, and other entries about ethical issues in biomedicine.
The Emory University Health Sciences Center Library provides an extensive list of bioethics resources.
NUCASE, Northeastern University Center for the Advancement of Science Education...Addressing Ethical Responsibility in Science Education.
The Poynter Center is concerned with the Study of Ethics and American Institutions. One of the major projects underway at the Poynter Center is called TRE (Teaching Research Ethics). An annotated bibliography has been compiled by Elizabeth Agnew under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Pimple. The files may be shared free of charge as long as proper credit is given.
The International Pugwash Page is the official home page for the Pugwash Conferences, which were set up at the behest of Albert Einstein and Bertrand Russell as a response to the development of the H-bomb. They exist to bring scientists together to further world peace and, more recently, environmental concerns. Student Pugwash USA has a pledge it urges all scientists to sign.
WWW Ethics Center for Engineering & Science. Extensive resources that will be especially useful for those in engineering and computer science. A list of ethical codes of conduct is also provided.
H. P. Burchfield maintains a site called Ivory Tower Crime.
Stephen Clark (University of Liverpool -- Department of Philosophy) has organized a collection of philosophy-related resources available on the internet. The listing of electronic ethics discussion groups and archives may be helpful.
Dr. Mike Epstein presented Using Pseudoscience as an Aid to Teaching General and Analytical Chemistry during ChemConf '97, Summer On-Line Conference on Chemical Education. The paper contains descriptions of five pseudoscience cases, and a list of relevant references.
David Goodstein, vice provost and physics professor at Caltech, proposes that dishonesty and unethical behavior will become more commonplace as science continues to traverse the "era of exponential expansion". His argument is described in several essays:
Dr. Patrick Hamlett of NCSU maintains a useful page of hyperlinks relating to Science, Technology, and Society.
Dr. Bryan Maguire has created a homepage at The University of Wales -- Bangor focusing on the use of Human Subjects in Research.
A Cold Fusion Primer has been written by Dr. Eugene Mallove and Jed Rothwell.
The James Randi Educational Foundation website contains information about Randi's debunking of pseudoscience and fraud. There is also information about student prizes.
Science policeman, Walter Stewart, discusses his involvement with the Darsee case, the DeLuca case, the Baltimore case, the Benveniste case, and the Gallo case.

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) is sponsoring Science magazine's first interactive www project. Readers may comment on the June 23, 1995 Special News Report regarding Conduct in Science, explore a short bibliography of Science magazine articles relating to science conduct, and participate in the online Conduct Discussion Groups. Five interactive case studies are provided.
The WWW Directory of Scholarly Electronic Conferences addresses Philosophy and Ethics. The SCIFRAUD group is likely to be of much interest.
A SCIFRAUD database is available via telnet (128.204.1.2 or rachel.albany.edu). IMPORTANT: at the username prompt, type: SCIFRAUD. This compilation of over 4000 references is made possible by Al Higgins (ach13@albanyvms.albany.edu) and the University of Albany.
ETHEX -- Diving into the Gene Pool: A series of ethical scenarios provide interactive case-studies that relate to genetic testing and genetic engineering.
Various articles. WWW/TechInfo Gateway. Articles relating to ethics and misconduct in science are sometimes archived online at this MIT site. A keyword search is available for the user.
An Investigator's Handbook has been placed online at the University of California -- San Francisco. Detailed policies and procedures regarding research integrity are provided.
Emory University has adopted guidelines for the responsible conduct of scholarship and research.
