The Discussion posting involves something new this week. I though it might
be interesting if *you* CHM 101 01 students wrote some of the questions
that appear on your next examination. For the Discussion posting for Week
6, I'm asking you to post a multiple-choice question for either Chapter
4 or Chapter 5 that I might use on the next CHM 101 01 examination. It
has to deal with the subject matter of either Chapter 4 or Chapter 5, and
contain 5 answers, only one of which is correct. And it has to be of a
quality that is suitable for your next examination. To get some ideas on
how to compose the question, look at the file examinatons from past terms
of CHM 101 that are already posted in the file examination section of the
CHM 101 01 Web page.
This project is worth 3 points, awarded as follows. First, you get one
point for writing the question and the 5 answers, and posting it all. Second,
you get an additional point for writing it properly, in the form used on
the file examinatons, and with all the chemical conventions correct. Finally,
you get another point if it is of a quality that can be used on the examination.
I'll comment on the second and third of these factors when I write to you
summarizing your points for Week 6.
One more thought. I will use at least one of the questions posted, perhaps
with some editing. So I would advise you not only to post your question,
but to review the Discussion board to look at all the questions posted
for the week. At least one, and maybe more, will be on the next examination.
Also, DO NOT indicate which is the correct answer. That will invalidate
the second and third points of participation credit. What you *can* do
-- if you wish -- is to discuss any and all questions that have been posted.
Indicate -- again, if you wish -- what you think are the right and the
wrong answers, and give your reasons. This ought to get a good, vigorous
set of discussions posted on this board.
Everyone ought to have a bit of fun with this one!

Many of you did post multiple choice questions for the Week 6 assignment,
some of which are pretty good, and some of which have a weakness here or
there. But I found only one response to one of the posted multiple choice
questions. For Week 7 I want everyone to look at the multiple choice questions
already posted and post your own response to each. If for some reason you
can't post an answer you think is correct, explain why.

question - had to look this one up too!
JAdams question about Marie Curie: answer: (a) comment: She was only
responsible for naming radioactivity, it was however Becquerel that was
responsible for its discovery. There could be some confusion in the wording
of this question.
