This fall, we'll be offering a web-based course using mixed media: Internet, e-mail, videotapes, and a (very few) on-campus meetings. This is an opportunity to participate in the first Internet course offered at the UM and earn an additional 3 credits more conveniently.

Chemistry 101, Fundamentals of Chemistry I, presents concepts and applications of chemistry for nonscience students. Applications of chemistry focus on the materials of our everyday lives and the substances and processes that affect our society. This course is designed for students who have not taken any previous chemistry course; there is no science prerequisite. There will be an initial meeting on campus where students, in conjunction with the faculty, will determine on-line time for lectures and faculty/student interaction,methods of communication, and exam dates/times (exams will be held on campus in a classroom).
