Distribution of Types

Generally speaking, MBTI types do not follow a random nor an equal distribution.  Although it is only equitable to be a type-friendly instructor, it also seems prodent to take into account a classroom’s distribution.  Studies tend to be situationally specific, but some tendencies seem fairly clear.

Naturally, college students taking a science course as an elective are more influenced by their MBTI preferences, and would probably have more Intuitives than Sensing and more Thinking than Feeling – beyond the happening of random chance.   Here are some interesting facts:

E : I  =  2 : 1

S : N =  2 : 1

T : F =  1 : 2 (female)

              3 : 2  (male)

J : P =  55 : 45
